Fry Fresh: Our Commitment to a Greener Future

At Fry Fresh, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We’re taking key steps to reduce our environmental impact and move towards a zero-landfill future. Here’s a look at our major initiatives.

1. Upgrading to Fuel-Efficient Vans

We’re upgrading our fleet with new, fuel-efficient vans that reduce emissions by combining deliveries and waste collection in one trip. This change will help us cut down on our carbon footprint and improve operational efficiency. Our goal is to complete this transition by 2027, starting with the first new vans arriving in September 2024.

2. Going Solar

To further reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy, we’re installing solar panels at our warehouses. These panels will power our operations and charge our electric vehicles, reducing both our energy consumption and emissions. We plan to have this project completed by 2027.

3. Embracing the Circular Economy

Our Circular Economy model ensures that waste is minimised and resources are reused:

  • We deliver products, collect used cooking oil, plastics, and cardboard, and recycle them at our plant.
  • These materials are repurposed into new products, supporting a zero-waste future and helping our customers reduce their environmental impact.

4. Supporting Recycling and Compliance

We offer free waste collection for customers, including used cooking oil, plastic containers, and cardboard, helping them comply with environmental regulations. We’re also moving to a digital waste tracking system to make compliance easier for everyone.

A Sustainable Future

Our vision is clear: to become the UK’s first zero-landfill waste cooking oil supplier. Through our efforts to reduce emissions, switch to renewable energy, and adopt a circular economy, Fry Fresh is paving the way for a more sustainable, eco-friendly future.
